A master’s thesis in the College of Arts at the University of Al-Qadisiyah discusses the evaluation of solid waste management in the city of Diwaniyah and its environmental impacts

I researched a master’s thesis in the College of Arts at the University of Al-Qadisiyah entitled (Evaluation of Solid Waste Management in the City of Diwaniyah and its Environmental Effects) by the student Zahraa Ali Abdul-Kadhim and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Abdul-Ridha Matar Abdul-Ridha

The study aimed to identify the amount of waste generated, how it is geographically distributed, places of concentration and places of lack of reproduction, which will enable us to identify the spatial variation and the reasons for that variation, as well as an analysis of the natural and human factors contributing to that. In the general environment of the city, through the field study conducted by the researcher for these sectors

The study reached a set of proposals, including the establishment of a landfill site for solid waste in which all international and local conditions and standards are met, and the establishment of intermediate sites and preparation for waste storage or collection before its final transfer to landfill sites, final treatment, and the completion of the sewage network to cover all sectors in the city because it is through the field study It was observed that the open sewers of wastewater became foci of solid waste collection as well as sludge and sedimentation in those sewers.
