I discussed in the College of Arts at the University of Al-Qadisiyah a master’s thesis entitled (Cultural Patterns in the Book of Fruit of the Caliphs and Fruit of the Zarafa’ by Ibn Arabshah (d. 854 AH) by the student Ahmed Muhammad Abdullah Al-Baaj and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Salem Jumah Kazem.

This study aims, using the interpretive approach, to attempt to reveal the mechanisms of cultural patterns in the book Fruit of the Caliphs and Fruit of the Zarafa through its apparent and hidden patterns. The study reached a set of results, including that systems acquire the characteristic of openness to spaces in culture, ideologies, and history, such that these data are observed without being transcendent to the structure of discourse and described as textual structures, such as the language that constitutes the text, in addition to being a model. We notice through the systemic reading that the system is determined. Through a function and not through its abstract existence, and the systematic function only occurs in a specific and restricted situation, and this happens when two systems conflict, one apparent and the other implicit, and the implicit is incomplete and abrogates the apparent.
