I researched a doctoral thesis at the College of Arts at the University of Al-Qadisiyah, entitled (The first and last words in dictionaries of words until the end of the fourth century AH, a study in semantic fields) by the student Naba Salam Zawad Al-Mayahi and under the supervision of Professor Hossam Adnan Rahim Al-Yasiri.

The study aims to come up with an objective dictionary of the first and last words in Arabic, validating the dictionaries of words until the fourth century AH. The importance of the study lies in the fact that it attempts to reveal the development in semantics and the importance of semantic fields, studying them, and monitoring Arab speech, its levels and characteristics through various linguistic phenomena such as synonymy, verbal association, and antonymy. Deletion, inclusion, etc., which are considered among the most prominent characteristics of Arabic, which include eloquent speech

The study concluded by explaining the importance of morphological material among ancient Arab lexicographers, paying attention to semantic linguistic phenomena, and explaining the neglected, the used, the abandoned, and the abandoned.

The most important recommendations of the study are the need to take care of the Arabic dictionary because it is rich in raw material and represents a strong base for the student to build and develop his linguistic dictionary
