The Research and Development Division is considered one of the basic and effective divisions in the college’s organizational structure because of the role assigned to it in the field of following up on scientific research and its requirements, which is the main goal in universities and one of the most important ways to develop the scientific level of universities. It is also considered one of the most important basic pillars for developing the country’s scientific movement, so The Research and Development Division has emerged as a scientific body concerned with the aspects that would develop the university, the teaching staff, and the researcher with regard to scientific affairs, as it includes paying attention to the scientific promotions of the teaching staff and the researcher with regard to the scientific affairs of the teaching staff through following up and supervising scientific promotions in universities and issuing instructions and laws that regulate scientific promotions in institutions. Higher education also includes following up and supervising the scientific publishing movement in Iraqi universities, which includes issuing peer-reviewed scientific journals, publishing research in international journals, and approving scientific journals for the purposes of scientific promotion. The division is also concerned with other scientific affairs of universities, such as scientific reports and the preparation of studies that would develop the scientific horizons of all its members. Units of the Research and Development Division:
1- The Postgraduate Studies Unit: which aims to prepare and graduate scientific cadres and develop their ability and abilities to be qualified to obtain higher degrees in various scientific specializations. This unit is concerned with graduate studies in the college, starting with the admission plan that is sent and the controls for application and acceptance, checking the names of those accepted, and following up on the affairs of graduate students until the university orders are issued for their graduation.
2- The Scientific Affairs and Research Unit: It performs several tasks, including following up on the Ministry’s books and circulars related to scientific affairs in our college, and the annual scientific plan for research planned for the beginning of the academic year and the research completed at the end of the academic year, and following up on the scientific research centers and units in the college and the work, innovations, and contracts related to research and structure related to them.
