In the College of Arts at the University of Al-Qadisiyah, I discussed a master’s thesis titled (Arif Al-Shirazi in his book ‘Afuf Al-Afiya fi Sharh Al-Kafiya, Tenth Century AH) by student Wissam Jabbar Al-Jubouri and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Haider Habib. The research aimed to study the book “Afw al-Afiya fi Sharh al-Kafiya” and what Al-Shirazi mentioned in this book
The study reached a number of results, including that Al-Shirazi cited the Holy Qur’an, pre-Islamic poetry, and a small portion of Islamic poetry more often than others, as he gave precedence to the Qur’anic witness over all the evidence with which he inferred the grammatical rule. He also did not mention the Qur’anic verse by citing it in its entirety, but rather contented himself with the position of the witness and cited the readings. He mentioned four of the seven reciters and one of the three who completed them, and cited the noble Prophet’s hadith. The number of hadiths he cited reached sixty hadiths, and he takes the place of evidence in consideration of his explanation. Al-Shirazi mentioned the reasons and more than mentioned the reasons for the branch and the original, including: (the reason for the origin, the compensation, and the first. And pregnancy, necessity, weakness, branch, branch, and similarity).
