I researched a master’s thesis at the College of Arts at the University of Al-Qadisiyah, entitled (Grammatic Reasoning in the Book of Editors in Grammar by Omar bin Issa Al-Harmi, d. 702 AH) by the student Heba Mohsen Jassab Al-Fatlawi and under the supervision of Professor Ghofran Hamad Al-Maliki
The study aims to classify the defects in the book (The Editor in Grammar) according to their grammatical chapters, so as to ensure an integrated thematic unity for the one grammatical chapter and in the single article for Al-Harami, by listing the Al-Harami’s defect in every resource we present to it, and sometimes commenting on its reasons, and then after that, citing the reason for the ancient grammarians, such as the proverbs of Sibawayh. Al-Mubarrad, Ibn Ya’ish and others, and then we mention the problem according to the grammarians who found it, taking into account the chronology in this matter, and then citing the words of the hadith scholars
And their comments, most notably Dr. Ahmed Al-Jawari, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Samarrai, Dr. Mahdi Al-Makhzoumi, and others. Among the most important conclusions of the study is what Al-Harimi was unique in that he believed that if the end of the correct letter is a vowel, then it is built on the sukun, and the nominative case such as (ghazoo) and (yarmi) is not evident, and ( He is afraid) because the waw is heavy, as is the yaa, so the nominative sign on them increases their weight
